The Ultimate Husqvarna Automower® Troubleshooting Guide

The Ultimate Husqvarna Automower® Troubleshooting Guide

When it comes to troubleshooting any issues you may have with your Automower®, the number one tip is that prevention is better than cure. There’s a lot of components and elements required to make Automower® work as well as it does, so getting regular servicing will help ensure that it remains in tip-top shape and minimise the time you need to troubleshoot any difficulties.

In most instances, if you encounter a problem, we strongly recommend to contact us. Here are some of the common operational issues you may encounter with your Automower®, and what you’ll need to do to troubleshoot them.

Automower® Runs at the Wrong Time

If you’re finding your Automower® isn’t running at the times you think you’ve set it to, there could be a couple of solutions. Either the robotic mower’s clock needs to be reset or perhaps the start and stop times have been set incorrectly. Refer to the Operator’s Manual to resolve this issue.

Unusual Vibrations

If you’re noticing unusual vibrations in your Automower®, it’s possible that one or more of the blades are damaged or missing. Following the procedures in the Operator’s Manual, inspect the blades and screws and replace as necessary. There should be no more than three blades per disc. If you have any concerns then make sure you get in touch with your Husqvarna dealer.

Shorter Mowing Time Between Charges

It’s possible that you may notice a decrease in the mowing time between charges. There are a couple of issues that could cause this. Firstly, it’s possible that the blade disc or wheels are clogged with grass or other debris. Secondly, it could be an indicator that the battery’s capacity is impaired. Following the procedures in the Operator’s Manual, remove and clean the blade disc and remove any excess grass clippings or debris from the wheels. If this doesn’t resolve the issue, then perform a battery test to determine the battery’s capacity as per page 98 of the Operator’s Manual.

Both the Mowing and Charging Times are Shorter Than Normal

This is also an indicator that the battery’s capacity is impaired. As above, perform a battery test to determine the battery’s capacity as per page 98 of the Operator’s Manual. If you have any reservations about the performance of your Automower® you should get in touch with your local Husqvarna dealer.

Automower® Doesn’t React When Pressing the STOP Button or Closing the Cover

This is an indicator that your Automower® microswitch is damaged or faulty. We recommend contacting your local Husqvarna dealer to resolve this issue as the microswitch will possibly need replacing.

Automower® Runs, But the Blade Disc Doesn’t Rotate

At first glance, this may appear to be an issue… but rest assured, this is normal behaviour! In instances where Automower® is searching for the charging station, it will move around without the blade turning. No further action is required.

Automower® Does Not Run Along the Guide Wire When Searching For The Charging Station

If your Automower® is struggling to return to its charging station and it appears as though it is not following the guide wire, then this could be an indication that the guide loop is broken. Refer to section 6.4 in the Operator’s Manual to resolve, or contact your local Husqvarna dealer.

Automower® Is Struggling with the Current Cutting Height

This is an indication that the grass is too long for the current set height. To fix this, increase the cutting height , and then gradually lower it over a period of time until you reach the desired height.

Grass Has Built Up Near the Blade Shaft and Motor Shaft

If you’re noticing Automower® is mowing for less time, check that the blade disc rotates freely and easily. If not, remove the blade disc as per the instructions in the Operator’s Manual and remove and grass or debris from the area.
